Candyce Fiessel - Owner and Hairstylist
Candyce’s professional edge is her ability to maximize and manage curl and texture through a shape that frames her guests’ natural beauty in combination with customized products and emphasis on shape and volume. Candyce is also known for formulating exceptional multi-tonal and natural looking blondes.
Upon completing her training and Journeyman’s certificate at Richard’s Beauty College in Regina, Candyce began her career working alongside her uncle and mentor, Dan Pritchard. Her accomplishments while working with Pritchard, combined with her ensuing professional exposure to the inner-workings of the beauty industry, lent Candyce insight into how best to serve both guests and team members: by creating beauty and developing leadership as well as a successful career path. Candyce would later impart this knowledge to her team at Shear Escape Salon & Spa. After her successful completion of the Dale Carnegie course, Candyce realized her goal of owning and operating her own salon when Shear Escape Salon & Spa was founded in 2005.
Candyce’s true passion lies in developing her staff by helping them to define goals and career aspirations that enhance and balance their personal and professional futures while maintaining the encouraging team atmosphere in the salon. After attending the Salon Summit Business College of Tampa, Florida, Candyce championed a relationship with Summit Consulting Group and became a leader among salon owners by incorporating Summit’s cutting-edge business model into Saskatchewan’s salon industry.
Candyce works diligently to inspire Regina as well as develop new opportunities for growth and success in Saskatchewan. Candyce and the Shear Escape Salon & Spa team host their own unique salon events with a view to building community. She has also inspired audiences at many speaking engagements including YWCA’s seminars, entrepreneurial classes and cosmetology schools. She has also been a significant backstage creative contributor at major fashion shows and community events such as the 2011 Power of Pink fund-raiser for Regina’s Breast Assessment Centre.
Candyce is a recognized industry leader and committed business woman. She is a YWCA Young Women of Distinction Award winner and a Paragon Award finalist. Through Candyce’s efforts, Shear Escape Salon & Spa has also been featured in Canadian Hairdresser Magazine. Candyce is a founding director of Saskatchewan Fashion Week through which she is inspired to build and sustain Saskatchewan's creative industries in design, beauty and cooperative imagination.
